For the Channel 4 Documentary ‘Dambusters: Building the Bouncing Bomb’ we provided a photo colourisation for Windfall Films; the photo in question was of Barnes Wallis firing marbles into a bathtub, the early days of the bouncing bomb experiments. A rare photo of history was now restored into colour to aid with the programme. The coloured photo was given to Barnes Wallis’ daughter whom she loved very much.

I found an advert in ‘Family History Monthly’ and contacted Simon with some fairly demanding portrait colourisation challenges. I had about eight quite poor – in some cases decidedly poor – early 1900s photographs and magazine illustrations of miniature paintings by a talented great aunt. Simon’s work was efficient and quickly addressed; he mailed preview copies for approval before completing his colourisation. Each finished portrait was enlarged to suit, on good quality paper. As a result I now have all portraits to admire, very substantially better than the small black and white originals. I recommend Simon’s professionalism.
